The First Commercial Frying Range Redesign in Nearly 20 Years

A Florigo frying range hasn’t really changed shape in around 20 years. And honestly, there was never much pressure to change it. It worked. But the kitchens it sits in have changed a lot in that time. Energy bills have gone up, floor space has got tighter, and more modern technology is being introduced into kitchens. At some point, the equipment needed to catch up.

So we’ve redesigned it. The new 2027 Florigo range is the first change to the shape of our frying ranges in decades, built through our new relationship with QBTEC, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of professional frying and cooking equipment. It’s the biggest change we’ve made to our range in a generation.

No More Knobs or Switches: The Frying Range Goes Fully Touchscreen

The most obvious change is on the outside. Every knob, dimmer and switch has been removed from the front of the range. Controls now sit on a single top bar, fully touchscreen, controlling everything from pan temperature and filtration, right down to adjusting the lights inside the hot box.

It’s a genuine shift for a piece of equipment that’s looked broadly the same for decades, and it’s the part of the redesign most people notice first.

A Smooth, Easy-to-Clean Frying Range for Every Fish and Chip Shop

With the controls gone from the body and the filtration handles tucked behind doors, the whole front of the range is a smooth surface. A wipe with a cloth is genuinely all it takes to keep it clean. For a chef or a frier who’s on their feet all day, every day, in a busy fish and chip shop, that’s not a small thing.

Panels and Lighting You Can Match to Your Shop

The front panels can now be powder coated in any colour, so your range matches your shop’s branding rather than the other way round. We’ve also introduced floor-level lighting: LED light thrown across the floor beneath the range, in your choice of colour to match the range. It’s a detail nobody else in the industry has done, and it means your frying range can pick up your shop’s colours from the ground up.

More Room for the Fire Suppression System on Every Range

The hot boxes now sit slightly higher above the pans, giving better clearance for the fire suppression system’s nozzles. In practice, that means your team can lift baskets out without catching the system, a small change that makes a real difference in a busy kitchen during service.

The Engineering Inside Your Frying Range Hasn’t Changed

Here’s the important bit. None of this touches what’s actually cooking your chips. We’ve kept 50 years of proven engineering exactly as it is, whether you’re running a gas fryer or an electric fryer. The shell is new. The performance isn’t.

Why We Partnered with QBTEC to Build It

The new range comes out of Florigo’s new relationship with QBTEC, and it’s a proper partnership rather than a licensing deal or a rebrand. It pairs decades of British knowledge with Dutch design and manufacturing, along with some of the most advanced frying and cooking engineering in Europe. In practice, that means you still get the reliability and service you already know from Florigo, just built on a frame that’s actually new and innovative.

What’s Changed Across Every Frying Range

Every range has undergone the same redesign:

  • Our filtration handles have been moved behind doors, giving the range a smooth, cohesive look, perfect for any modern kitchen.
  •  Push-button controls and switches have been updated with flat touchscreen panels at eye level. This not only keeps everything smooth and user-friendly but also makes the panel easier to clean.
  •  Lighting to the front of the range has shifted down and casts a light in your choice of colour across the floor, giving the range a more elegant feel that will complement any shop logo or branding.
  • Most notably, the front of the range is made up of horizontal panels that follow a subtle curve from the midsection to the floor, giving an aerodynamic feel to the range. These panels are powder-coated and can be customised to any colour of your choosing so you can have it seamlessly blend in with your shop design or match your staff uniforms. The sky’s the limit!

Across every configuration, the engineering underneath stays the same: 50 years of reliable performance, Active Triple Filtration as standard, and results that don’t dip when service gets busy.

Built for Restaurants and Pubs, Not Just Fish and Chip Shops

Fish and chips is one of the most requested dishes on any menu, in pubs, in restaurants, pretty much everywhere. But a lot of that restaurant equipment was never built with a proper frying range in mind, and a lot of kitchens have never had the specialist frying know-how either. So it stays off the menu, or it gets done badly. A frying range with simpler, touchscreen controls makes it far easier for a team without a dedicated frying chef to get consistent, shop-quality results.

Want to Get Ahead of the Launch?

This is the biggest change we’ve made to our frying ranges in nearly 20 years, so we’d expect interest to pick up quickly once word gets around. If you’re running a fish and chip shop and thinking about upgrading, or you’re a restaurant or pub wondering if fish and chips could work on your menu, now’s a good time to start that conversation.

Get in touch, and we’ll talk you through the new range, your kitchen, and what it would take to get set up ahead of the 2027 rollout.
