The new owners at the Cove in Otley, John and Christina Georgallis, would like you to take a look at their award winning fish and chip restaurant, take-away and ice-cream parlour. John and Christina have just put the finishing touches to the exciting, fresh refurbishment which started when they took over in May. The couple who have lived in Horsforth for 12 years and have two boys, George and Andreas, fell in love with The Cove the minute they set eyes on it.
Both are excited about the future and are enjoying every minute of their new venture. John said he saw the business potential after his first meeting with previous owner of 23 years, Adrian Atter, and was keen to take over.
The Cove has an excellent reputation and has been the winner of the coveted Sea Fish Industry award each and every year since 1996, something that John and his friendly staff have managed to retain again for 2007/8. This most sought after accolade has been awarded due to high standards in every aspect of the business - from superb quality of product, preparation, cooking, impeccable hygiene practices, backed up by exacting standards of customer care and service.

John is also loving the new Florigo range that Adrian had installed recently - 'It makes my life so easy' says John, 'Adrian showed me how it worked and I have to say I would definitely buy one for my next shop too! The staff at Florigo have really helped me too - nothing is too much trouble and that is worth a lot these days!'
Senior citizens can take advantage of the special offers available in the restaurant with a "Golden Oldie" for £4.25 or the OAP 2 for £10 which allows two customers two courses from the set menu.
There are many other seafood dishes available including deep fried calamari served with fresh Greek salad, which may be ordered as a starter or main dish. Other seafood dishes include tuna steak, swordfish steak, halibut or salmon. There is even a slimmer's special for those watching their weight and mouth-watering, homemade vegetarian dishes.
A portion of fish and chips to takeaway costs from £3.65 and visitors can take advantage of The Cove's outside seating area next to ice cream parlour or take a walk down to the river which is just a stone's throw away.
The fully licensed restaurant seats 40 and can also play host to private parties with an upstairs dining area that can seat 22; it's perfect for kids or adults. Baby changing facilities and high chairs are also available for babies and tiny tots. John and Christina have met many locals since they took over and would like to thank those who have welcomed them since their arrival.
'This has been a very busy time for us', Christina said, 'and we could not have done this without the support of our wonderful family, friends and indeed our parents who have supported us wholeheartedly".
Adrian Atter, The Cove's predecessor, said he wanted to thank all his customers for their patronage over the last 23 years and said he was thrilled to have left the business he loved so much in the capable hands of the enthusiastic couple and wished them all the luck in the world
