It seems like only yesterday that Jim McKinnon bought his first Florigo, Jim who spent much of his working life in the armed forces now embraces the fish and chip trade and knows that with hard work and the right team behind him he can have a very successful future.

In 2007 Jim found an excellent site in Leyland, near Preston, ideal for his next venture - Leyland is famous for being the home of Leyland Trucks and in recent years has seen massive regeneration of the town - Leyland trucks still survive today and the town now has a population of around 40,000 all looking for a great fish & chip shop!

'I chose Florigo again because I know it's a better range than anything else on the market today', says Jim, 'it may cost a little more but the savings in utility costs and maintenance more than speak for themselves and I have also been a firm believer in the old adage - you get what you pay for - and the extra expense has been well worth it'.

Robert Furey was on hand to guide Jim again through the whole process from initial consultation through to installation and training 'Jim knows exactly what he wants from a range, says Rob, 'reliability and a consistent quality product that is easy to operate and energy efficient, I didn't have to sell it to him as he already knew that Florigo met, and exceeded, all of his requirements!'

Jim chose a bespoke hand crafted island range with touchscreen controls, high efficiency fish, chip and snack pans, 2 bain maries in the extended lip and even a humidified section in the hot boxes - every detail that Jim requested was added including mirror glass doors and state of the art in built filtration.

The shop opened with rave reviews from the locals, and continues to impress - winning a Seafish Quality award within the first 6 months, Jim is now looking to extend his menu with the addition of Pizzas, 'we have a large student population in the area' says Jim, 'and adding pizza to our menu is only going to help my profits with the minimum of effort!'
