Daniels Fish & Chips - Celebrating 10 years success in the Industry.
Daniel Pettitt opened his first fish & chip shop in Abbotsbury Road, Weymouth in 1996 - although new to the fish and chip industry ,he knew that he had the ideas, drive and determination to make an impact and most of all a success.
After just four years, in 2000, after learning about fish and chips from scratch and implementing new ideas, Daniel opened his second shop at Littlemoor, Weymouth. The first shop had a Florigo range in it when he bought it and Daniel knew that to develop his business and take him into the 21st century he would need to update and replace the existing range at Littlemoor too.
Daniel immediately contacted Robert Furey from Florigo UK, 'Because I had already fried on a Florigo', says Daniel, 'I knew that the build quality and technology were an unbeatable combination. I also knew that we would be able to rely on the range to produce excellent, consistent product each and every time and have no worries about equipment failure and breakdowns'.
'In 2002, with a view to expanding the business further, my sister Stephanie came to work with me. Stephanie comes form a business background and has experience in the fish and chip industry so it made complete sense to bring her on board. She is an important part of the business; we work extremely well together and have not looked back since'.
Daniel and Stephanie realise the importance of brand recognition, 'A modern, clean look' says Stephanie, 'was the brief we gave the design consultant (David Lax from Creative Interiors in Bournemouth) he came up with a design that would be attractive to customers and yet practical for the staff to work in - neon blue lighting, marble floors and stainless steel fittings - the shops look fabulous, especially at night!'
In 2006, Daniels Fish & Chips opened the doors in Hamworthy, Poole - once again Robert Furey was contacted to install another Florigo frying solution, 'I like working with him' says Robert, 'because he has a completely different approach to how he fits his shops out and markets his brand and he knows what he wants to achieve'.
Robert also suggested John Regan, from Design Mach Limited, to complete the shop fit - staying true to the brand, Coles Avenue has funky neon blue lighting and a shop front that invites customers old and new over the threshold.
All shops also offer an excellent choice on the menu from 'frozen at sea' cod , fresh chicken pieces fried to order, 6oz 100% beef burgers - even vegetarian options - all guaranteed to satisfy the hungry customers no matter what they want to eat!
Unbelievably they get through over 200 tonnes of Maris Piper potatoes a year - as their own website points out that's over 65 hippos - I am not sure even a Florigo could manage to fry one of those!!
All of the shops are a credit to Daniel's hard work and vision - each shop holds the Seafish award for quality in recognition of continuing high standards.

Daniel is also supporting the local community 'My hobby is growing Palm trees so when the UK was successful in its bid to host the 2012 Olympics' he said, 'I donated a palm tree (planted on Preston Roundabout in Weymouth) because the sailing events will be held locally at Weymouth and Portland harbours, since then we have donated a second palm tree (planted on Kings Roundabout) as I want to enhance and improve our local area'.
