New Range & New Look for Chippy Sue's in Cambridgeshire
Sue & Mick Harrison always dreamed of owning their own business, Sue had always worked in the catering trade, both in fish and chips and restaurant kitchens, but following a serious car accident she was left unable to work for a year. On her first day at her new job she discovered the owners were about to sell the shop and persuaded Mick to give up his career in the car trade - in July 2003 they became the new owners of Chippy Sue's!!
Witelsee is a pleasant market town in Cambridgeshire, with a good catchment area and they have quickly gained an enviable reputation from both local residents and passing trade - such is the quality of their product many of their customers travel miles just to get their fish and chips!!
In early 2006 Sue & Mick decided that to develop even further they would have to change their range and, at the same time, refurbish the shop. They attended trade exhibitions, to see what was on the market, and visited shops in their area with ranges installed (so they could see them working) before finally deciding on a Florigo. 'After talking to Mark Petrou' said Sue, 'we realised the benefits of investing in a Florigo, I was also impressed with Robert Furey as he actually listened and, most of all, understood what we needed'.
Mick was convinced he needed a 4 pan range but Robert assured him that a 3 pan high efficiency range would be sufficient and would more than cope with demand. Mick was happy to be advised by someone who knew the trade inside and out and ordered a 3 pan High Efficiency wall range with basket and fish pans with flotronic controls, a chrome plated griddle and even a heated scrap box.
Today Mick is more than happy and the trade has increased by over 50%, 'to be honest' says Mick, 'this range could cope with even more business - the quality is outstanding and its made my job even easier than I thought possible!'
Robert also suggested Design Mach Limited to complete the refurbishment to Sue & Mick's exacting requirements, today the shop is finished, both inside and out, with beautiful solid oak panelling and a superb tiled floor - the range position is now at the rear of the shop which allows more space for both Sue & Mick and their customers.
Sue & Mick are also keeping it a family business, their son, Ricky, even runs the shop on their days off, knowing that the computer controls will ensure that the product is as good as his dads!!
The final word to Sue 'I really would not hesitate to recommend Florigo - even our customers have commented on the build quality of the range and they love to watch us work and of course eat the food! It was a big investment but to us and our customers it's worth every penny!!' |
