Mister Chips Restaurant and Takeaway has been established for nearly 25 years and has an enviable reputation. Based in Whitby we are near the famous Church Street cobbles that lead to Whitby Abbey. MISTER Chips has been named the first-ever winner of the Whitby Gazette's Chip Shop Challenge. We are famous for our high quality fish and our batter is legendary.

We serve the traditional fish and chip dinner, but also serve local Whitby salmon, crab, scampi and our delicious homemade dishes. Due to popular demand we are now licensed to sell beer, wine and spirits, which you can enjoy with our fine meals. We have refurbished the takeaway and installed a state of the art Florigo range that had to come through one of our windows in one piece.

We find the Dutch range a superb addition to our high tech equipment. The Dutch built range gives our traditional fish and chips consistent high quality, taking Mister Chips well into the 21st century.

We have served our high quality fish and homemade dishes in our popular restaurant for over 12 years. Due to popular demand we are now licensed to serve beers, wines and spirits and have recently had a fantastic new refurbishment. You can now enjoy our succulent fish and chips, fresh Whitby salmon served with new potatoes, fine beans and cooked in a lemon and dill butter, or perhaps something different from our `a la carte' menu.

This is perfectly complemented by our fine selection of wines that are guaranteed to suit any taste. We also serve various dishes suitable for vegetarians and are open all day and in the evening. The Evenings offer a more subtle ambiance with cosy soft lighting and dishes to tempt all palates!

Our batter is legendary and our fish succulent! We do the traditional cod and haddock as well as ling, plaice, lemon sole, pies and top quality sausages and burgers. Whether you choose to takeaway or enjoy the comfort of our restaurant, you are always assured of a top quality meal at Mister Chips.

Because Mister Chips is so popular we have a new fully qualified Chef who's speciality is fish and seafood. The menu changes regularly so we have new special dishes alongside the ever popular fish and chips. For those with a sweet tooth our new Desert menu has homemade dishes to die for!
